hating on ITC Century BooK
I really hate the font ITC Century Book. I was not even aware of its existence before I started my job, where it was the official report font.  I find the font super difficult to read because it’s too curvy and letters seem to clutter together.  Thankfully, the official font was changed to Arial this past year. My beef is now with people who continue to use this godforsaken font.  Stop it...

One of those nights where your bed is full of clothes and you just dump them all on the floor and fall asleep. That is my plan.  Pacific Northwest trip fully planned! I look forward to Mount Rainier hiking, lots of beautiful beaches with amazing rock formations, three nights at a cottage 2 minutes away from the beach, eerie fortified tree remains in the ocean, whales, lavender and alpaca...

On my mind....
travels travels travels.  In July I hope to go on a weekend to weekend vacation in the Pacific Northwest. I was up late last night creating a document for a vacation plan full of nature-y things. :D  We plan to go whale watching on San Juan Islands, hike in Mt. Rainier, and drive down the Oregon Coast to explore the scenery/parks/beaches and hopefully stay at a cottage near a beach as our base.  ...

feeling old
Not because I just had my birthday, but because I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about my financial choices for the future. In a way, I can’t believe it took me almost 2 years after starting work to seriously think about it, but then I had a student loan to pay off and a relatively expensive apartment (relative to now but not when compared to others). Maybe it’s the...

Funny story
I called Chris’s masseuse to schedule a deep tissue massage appointment while he was in Japan.  At the appointment today, the following conversation occurred: M: So your girlfriend call me… C: Yes…I was away M: She has a nice voice. C: Yes, indeed…? M: She doesn’t sound like a RPG player.  ROFL. Poor Chris.

Talking about boys...
I have an issue where I do not care to discuss men with my girl friends much. It’s probably one of the reasons why I don’t have that many girl friends.  I just do not care to spend that much time over-analyzing someone else’s mate/non-mate.  Every conversation do not have to be about men.  Occasionally I would be snoopy and inquire, but that’s likely because the person in...

Poems
Once upon a time, maybe when I was memorizing Li Bai as an elementary school student and a high school senior “analyzing” (aka BSing about) poems, I actually enjoyed reading poems. Nowadays I impatiently breeze through them like I’m reading about refund anticipation loans.  Somewhere along the way I stopped wanting to read or learn new poems, though (or therefore) my favorites...

Salads
Lately I’ve been really into salads: spinach and strawberry salad, pepper salad, salad with miso dressing…all good to me!  And I’ve discovered that I really like the fusion of tofu and avocado. I started out the year with the goal of eating less meat, and I think I’ve definitely achieved that, subbing chicken for tofu in many recipes and making aforementioned salads.  I am...

dreams for the future
I can say that one constant joy of my life is probably listening to podcasts. I do this almost everyday. They educate me, make me think, laugh, and help me pass time. Other people have TV shows as background noise.  The constant “noise” for me are podcasts. A conversation on the Fareed Zakaria’s podcast recently inspired me to think about what I want out of my life each year.  I...
