About Work
So it’s been four days since I started to work. Day 1 was orientation, Day 2 I found out about the project I will be working on under my supervisor, Day 3 was a lot of reading, and Day 4, today, was training and more reading. Day 5 will probably consist of a lot of reading too.
I like that this job will be a process of continual learning, and for this first project, my learning curve will...

I have been filling out many a forms in preparation for the GAO and I will start my job next Monday! I’m really excited yet nervous. My first of three rotations will be with the financial market and community investment team, and though I don’t know my specific assignments yet, I’m sure I’ll be learning a lot! A little bit more about the FMCI team...
My hair is killing me in this weather. I shouldn’t have gotten another haircut. The hair is short, thick, and I’m not entirely sure attractive. It doesn’t help that my hair is black, so in the blazing sun, I feel like I have a blanket over my head. I would leave the house with dry hair and come back with wet, sweaty hair. It’s quite gross.
Alas…hair shall grow back...

So far, DC has consisted of a whole lot of walking about in hot-as-hell weather. I went to the Smithsonian Folklife Festival yesterday and walked around places with my brother today. We also went to see the fireworks at the National Mall, pictures of which can be seen here. I’m just trying to get adapted and stop acting like a tourist, but it’s really hard when there are so many...
