[bring to a boil]: Seared Tuna Steak Salad: Dinner... →
Heat a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in a small skillet
Generously cover one side of the tuna steak in coarsely cracked black pepper and black sesame seeds, sprinkle lightly with salt (a medium sized steak is generally enough for two servings).
Place into hot skillet, peppered side…

In poking around my online PNC account to find the most convenient way to pay my future landlord, I found out about PopMoney. My PNC account is linked to PopMoney, which allows you to directly deposit into other people’s accounts if you have their acct number, or you can just put in the other person’s email or phone number, and they would receive instructions on how to retrieve the...

Apt in DC
Last night I suffered from a case of buyer’s remorse, whereby I kept debating the merits and demerits of the place I settled on and another place that I looked at. This morning though, after walking around the vicinity, I started to feel better about my choice.
The apartment is located in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood, about a 15 minutes walk to Chinatown and downtown, where GAO is...

Annoyances
1. The proliferation of rewards cards
2. Wasteful product packaging
3. People who do not turn their blinkers off after they shift lanes
4. People who do not have the courtesy to respond to sincerely written emails (esp. frustrating right now with the house search)
5. Facebook’s unnecessary and evasive publication of my activities in the newsfeed
I got a “tentative job offer” from the GAO!!!! I need more details, but I think that will be given after I provide them with references and such. Yay yay yay!
Life in Transition
When the landlord of the house I decided on contacted me today about leasing, I had a long moment of “shit, this is really happening.” Am I really to shelve out $1000 a month on housing in DC? What if it’s the wrong choice? Should I just stick with much (very much) smaller rooms for $200-$300 less the price?
The room in this house is freaking awesome. Think the room I had on...
Now I know...
…why I was nervous. Because I freaking do want to work for the GAO so much. And the part about why I don’t want to interview, I think it was because I want it but I don’t want to have a bad interview. GAO’s like my ideal organization where I will have the opportunity to work on a bunch of different areas, where people are challenged to do well, where the reports I...
Ahhhh. GAO interview in like 1.5 hours. Why is it that even though I have a job lined up I feel nervous about this interview??? I’m semi-prepared, but it’s almost like my stronger desire is not to do the interview. Laziness? Lack of motivation? Ready to just get this out of the way? Knowing that I probably won’t give my best because I have a job already?
Need to stop eating my...
Ahh. I am stressed out over housing search and so I am switching my strategy. Emailed a few people today about just subletting for the month of July. It just seems more doable than visiting DC for a few days with my limited number of options. Hopefully that works out.
GAO interview finally tomorrow. I’ve been so very unmotivated about “studying” for the interview, ah well.
A couple of things I'm stressing out about
1. I’m selling my car and the haggling makes me angry, though it is expected.
2. The girl hasn’t responded to my email about my application for her apartment…and it’s been like 3 days. It sort of sucks to be in the dark and I might have to find another place? Arrgh.
